Phloroglucinol is a medicine is a generic of SPASFON-LYOC.
Phloroglucinol is used in case of painful spasms of digestive origins (spasmodic colitis), biliary (hepatic colic), urological (nephritic colic) and gynecological (painful rules and contractions of the uterus during pregnancy).
The tablets can be dissolved in a glass of water or placed under the tongue to have a faster effect.
Usual dosage :
Adult: 2 tablets to take at the time of the crisis and to renew eventually in case of major spasms.
Child: 1 tablet dissolved in a glass of water, 2 times a day.
This medicine should not be used in cases of phenylketonuria (presence of aspartame).
Side effects :
Very rarely: allergic skin reaction.

Our advices :
In case of nephritic colic, it is generally advisable to drink copiously between crises to fight against the formation of stones. However, during a seizure, fluid absorption should be limited so as not to increase pain.
In case of painful contractions of the uterus during pregnancy, rest is an integral part of the treatment.
