Cream against skin irritations
This cream agaisnt skin irritations is to be used as an additional treatment. Medicine not subject to medical prescription. Read Homéoplasmine ointment - BOIRON’s notice before use.
Indications for use and dosage :
External use only. Cutaneous way. Do not use this medicine on over-infected or oozing lesions.
Skin irritations : 1 to 3 applications per day in a thin layer.
Precautions for use :
Do not use this medicine :
- on over-infected or oozing lesions,
- in the event of allergy to one of the active substances or one of the other components contained in this ointment.
Children :
The use of Homeoplasmine Ointment - BOIRON is contraindicated in children under 30 months, due to the presence of boric acid in the formulation.
Boric acid can be the cause of serious intoxication, especially on children :
- not to use this ointment in a prolonged way, nor repeated,
- not to use on a damaged skin, burned, on a great surface of skin,
- not to use on a mucous membrane,
- do not use as an occlusive (closed) dressing.
In case of question or doubt, ask a health professional for advice.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or may use any other medication.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women : this drug is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing age without effective contraception.
- Concerning breast-feeding : discontinue either the medication or breast-feeding.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication.
In animals, one of the substances contained in this medication has altered fertility. Inform your doctor if you are planning a pregnancy or if you have difficulties to conceive.
Side effects :
The following effects have been reported: burning sensation at the application site, redness at the application site, eczema, hypersensitivity reactions including angioedema. Risk of systemic effects.
In infants and children, boric acid has been responsible for serious intoxications. Certain signs such as cutaneous signs (intense and diffuse erythroderma, followed by desquamation with an initial erythema often predominating in the area of the seat and mouth) should give the alarm.
Storage :
Keep this medication out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the box (reference to the last day of the month).
Do not use beyond one year after opening the tube.
Store at a temperature below 25°C.
To help preserve the environment, do not throw away your medicines, but bring them back to your pharmacist.
