GavisconPro is a medecine presented in the form of sachets.

GavisconPro taste mint flavor and is sugar free.

Indications:
GavisconPro belongs to a group of medicines called "anti-reflux". Reflux is a process by which acidic gastric fluid flows back up into the esophagus.
Unlike the stomach, the wall of the esophagus does not resist acidity, which is why reflux is the source of pain and discomfort felt as burns.

GavisconPro forms a protective layer that floats above the contents of the stomach. This layer prevents reflux and keeps the stomach contents away from the esophageal wall, which relieves heartburn and acid regurgitation.
They can get worse if you eat a fatty or very spicy food. If you drink too much alcohol, smoke, wear tight clothes, be overweight, or bend over or lie down.

Dosage :
1 sachet = 2 teaspoon

• Adults, including the elderly, and children from 12 years and older: 1/2 sachet of 10 ml (pour the sachet into 1 teaspoon) three times a day after meals and if necessary at bedtime. In case of more severe pain, the dosage can be increased to 1 sachet of 10 ml (two teaspoons).
• Children under 12 years old: should only be taken after the advice of a doctor.

Use during pregnancy and lactation :

• Pregnancy : GavisconPro can be used during pregnancy. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

• Breastfeeding : GavisconPro can be used during breastfeeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Administration mode :
Oral use only.
Swallow the suspension as is, without diluting or using a teaspoon.
You should talk to your doctor if symptoms persist beyond 7 days.
Symptoms and instructions in case of overdose
If you take more GavisconPro, than you should : You may feel bloated. It is unlikely to have harmful consequences for your health, however if symptoms persist consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Instructions if one or more doses are missed: If you forget to take GavisconPro oral suspension in sachet-dose : do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you forgot to take.

Our advices :
This medication is intended to relieve your stomach ache.
Burns, heartburn, acid reflux can be due to changes in diet (acidic or spicy dishes, alcoholic drinks ...) or the taking of certain drugs (aspirin, anti-inflammatory ...). Do not hesitate to talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
To limit the onset of symptoms, observe the following hygienic rules as much as possible:

• avoid tobacco and limit alcohol consumption,
• avoid abundant and high-fat meals,
• eat slowly,
• avoid certain foods such as chocolate, spices, peppers, citrus juice, soft drinks,
• vary your diet,
• normalize your weight,
• avoid the practice of a significant effort just after the meal.

Contraindications :
Never take GavisconPro if you are allergic to the active substances or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Warnings and precautions for use :
This medicine contains sodium (4.6 mmol per 10 ml), potassium (2.0 mmol per 10 ml) and calcium.
Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine, if you have been asked to follow a diet poor in any of these constituents.
In view of the presence of these salts in this medicine, please also consult your doctor if you suffer or have suffered from heart disease or renal dysfunction, since these salts may interfere with these diseases.

Interactions with other medicines :
As a precaution, you should space out the 2-hour intake between GavisconPro and another medicine.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Ingredients :
For one sachet GavisconPro contains :
The active substances are: sodium alginate and potassium bicarbonate.
Each 5 ml dose of oral suspension contains 500 mg of sodium alginate and 100 mg of potassium bicarbonate.
The other components are:
Calcium carbonate, 974 P carbomer, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium saccharin, mint flavor, sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), purified water.
