Gavisconell tablets RECKITT BENCKISER comes in the form of chewable tablets. Its is convenient to carry in your bag.
This medecine is indicated to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux such as acid reflux, heartburn and difficult digestion. Theses situtations can occur after meals, during pregnancy, or esophagitis.
Gavisconell tablets form a protective layer that floats above the contents of the stomach. This layer prevent reflux relieving the sensation of heartburn.
Oral use only. Chew the tablet well before swallowing it.
- Adults, and children over 12 years old: take two to four tablets, after main meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.
- Child under 12 years old: treatment to be taken on medical advice.
Gavisconell tablets, can be used during pregnancy and lactation. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Burns, heartburn, acid reflux can be due to diet (acidic or spicy food, alcoholic beverages ...) or taking certain drugs (aspirin, anti-inflammatory ...). Don't hesitate to talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
To limit the onset of symptoms, observe the following hygiene rules as much as possible :
- Avoid tobacco and limit alcohol,
- Avoid fat meals and eat healthy food
- Eat slowly,
- Avoid certain foods such as chocolate, spices, peppers, citrus juices, soft drinks,
- Normalize your weight,
- Avoid practicing heavy effort just after meal.
Precautions for use:
If you take more Gavisconell than you should: It is unlikely to cause you side effects. You may feel bloated. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If you forget to take Gavisconell : do not take a double dose the next time. Just take the dose as indicated in the dosage.
Never take Gavisconell if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine, as very rare cases of skin irritation and breathing difficulties have been reported.
This medicine contains sodium (5.3 mmol for 2 tablets) and calcium (1.6 mmol for 2 tablets). Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine, if you have been asked to follow a diet poor in any of these constituents.
Considering the presence of these salts in this medicine, please also consult your doctor if you suffer or have suffered from heart disease or kidney dysfunction, since these salts may interfere with these diseases.If symptoms persist after seven days, please consult your doctor.
Other medicines and Gavisconell : it is advisable to space the intake of 2 hours between this product and another medicine taken orally because it can interfere with the action of certain other medicines.
If you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Gavisconell, can be used during pregnancy and lactation. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Gavisconell contains aspartame. If you have phenylketonuria disease, be aware that this medication contains aspartame, a source of phenylalanine.
Keep this medicine out of reach from children.
Do not use Gavisconell after the expiry date which is stated on the box. The expiration date refers to the last day of this month.
The active substances are:
Sodium alginate ... 250.00 mg
Sodium bicarbonate ... 133.50 mg
Calcium carbonate ... 80.00 mg
The other ingredients are: mannitol (E421), macrogol 20,000, copovidone, aspartame (E951), Mint flavor, magnesium stearate, acesulfame potassium (E950).
These tablets do not contain sugar or gluten.
